Why this set
Older climbers get self-conscious about rainbow walls. Black holds read as a training board, which is often the difference between a teenager using the wall and ignoring it. The shapes are the same catalogue profiles; only the pigment changed.
Black also disappears against dark plywood or a painted garage wall, so the route is read by shape and position instead of by color. That makes the board harder in a useful way: you have to look at what you are grabbing.
One caution for a sunny outdoor wall — dark resin gets hot in direct afternoon sun. The material itself is UV stabilized and will not fade, but a north wall or a shaded gable is the kinder place for this set in July.
